Contribution for Volume 3 of the Bartkira Project.
Bartkira is a community art project in which hundreds of artists from all over the world are collaborating to recreate all six volumes of Akira, replacing the characters with the cast of the Simspons.
It's bonkers. And I love it. As soon as I heard about the project and saw some of the artwork for Volume one I signed up straight away. I love Akira, and I love the Simpsons. Why shouldn't smashing them together work?
Lots of reasons.
But it does, and it's a beautiful thing.
I contributed 5 pages to volume 3.

Submission for local Zine GHOTI under the theme of 'Dads'.
Dad The Hero follows Dad, a mysterious moustached man in double denim with great bravery and power, and his travelling companion and friend Ross the Goblin. They are asked by the Turtle King to save his only daughter, the lovely Princess Slinky, who has been kidnapped by the evil and lecherous Dragon Richard.
This was a fun project for me to do, basing characters on my family and friends. At some point soon I will be revisiting the world of Dad The Hero and producing a physical comic book of more Dad stories.
